The challenge
The Felician Sisters of North America sought to divest themselves of a former convent building in Welland, Ontario. The sisters engaged Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, to initiate and oversee the sale of the property.
The solution
PMR began by identifying and interviewing the most qualified residential real estate brokers in the area. After thoroughly vetting the market knowledge, reputation, reliability, and success history of the finalists, PMC helped the leadership team select a broker.
Then, together with Felician Sisters of North America and the broker, PMR developed a sound marketing strategy. PMR coordinated all of the sellers’ due diligence responsibilities, oversaw the buyers’ due diligence, and located and engaged a qualified local attorney to expeditiously handle the closing, title transfer process, and registration and reporting requirements.
The benefit
Careful planning combined with PMR's experience and unbiased perspective led to two full price offers within three weeks of placing the property on the market. Throughout the entire transaction, PMR provided oversight, reviewed final documentation for accuracy and amenability, and supported the sisters during the closing.
