I work in every industry with a focus on manufacturing and service companies. As the firm's director of accounting policy, and a member of the professional standards team, I oversee all technical aspects of the firm’s accounting matters, including accounting standards implementation and trainings on accounting and auditing technical matters.
My clients and colleagues appreciate my practical approach to sticky issues — I often find myself involved in many of our clients’ most challenging accounting issues. With 25 years of specialized experience in public accounting, I enjoy that I can help clients every day and challenge myself in the pursuit of technical solutions.
I’m proud of the firm’s investment in serving our clients’ IFRS needs. Expanding this area has allowed me to contribute to the growth of other professionals. It’s gratifying to play a part in others’ careers and see them also achieve partner.
I’m often invited to participate in task forces and roundtable discussions sponsored by the SEC and the Center for Audit Quality. I also preside over the internal accounting training curriculum for the firm. The AICPA recognized my high performance on the CPA exam with the Elijah Watt Sells Award. I belong to the AICPA and the Michigan Association of CPAs, and I sit on the board of advisors for the College of Business Administration at the University of Detroit Mercy. I have a B.S. in accounting from the University of Detroit.
Outside of work, I enjoy ice hockey and golf. I also enjoy spending time with my family, and stay busy with the activities of my two kids.
